Atmosphere

Dining in a relaxed atmosphere without any fuss, yet still retaining that certain something – that's what our "Adler Stuben" restaurant is all about! The aim is to simply make guests feel at home. There are five seating areas in total, each differing in their interior design. But there’s one thing they all have in common: They are furnished in an elegant, contemporary and cosy style. On days when it’s suitable for sitting outside, you can sit on the modern-design restaurant terrace beneath the historic wooden balcony of the Black Forest House.

Wirtshus

This seating area feels just like the name suggests. You get that cosy pub atmosphere as soon as you enter and an immediate sense of the convivial ambience, with lively discussions all around. Tables here can seat up to twelve guests, that’s why the "Wirtshus", spelt the Alemannic way, is particularly popular with large families.

Marie Antoinette Grill

This is the central section of the Restaurant “Adler Stuben” designed in the classic-elegant style, with a number of historic features. The room height is lower than usual as this is how buildings were constructed in earlier times – the Black Forest House has a history stretching back over 385 years. This area of the restaurant only offers views to the outside from individual seats. Savour the exclusive atmosphere!

Marie Antoinette Stube

This room is very popular with our guests, so we ask you to make a reservation early if you wish to dine there. The wall panelling, some of the pieces of furniture as well as the tiled stove date from 1639, the year it was built. The Black Forest House was built by the original owners, ancestors of the Hotel Manager Katja Newmann, and are depicted in wall murals, looking out kindly over the guests as they dine. The long window frontage offers superb views to the outside.

Marie Antoinette Bergkristall

This room was created a few years ago and is popular with guests who appreciate a highly glamorous, modern and elegant style. It can also accommodate large tables for up to 16 guests. The room can also be hired out for exclusive use. The Bergkristall has floor-to-ceiling windows, providing lots of light and wonderful views of the natural surroundings.

Marie Antoinette Club

The Club joins on to the central section of the Marie Antoinette area of the restaurant. This room is well suited for bookings for gatherings of up to 20 persons, with views to the outside from two sides.

Terrace of the Black Forest House

The atmospheric summer terrace, with views of the front of the hotel and the main building, is located beneath the balcony of our historic Black Forest House. It only has a few seats available so early reservation is recommended.

Dual leadership in the kitchen

High standards, creativity and the joy of cooking

Executive chef Bernhard König, who is also a spice sommelier, and chef de cuisine Alexander Kolodziej focus on delivering unadulterated pleasure with high-quality products – where possible from the region. It goes without saying that fresh ingredients are used in our cuisine. In summer, herbs are supplied from the gardens in the hotel park. All sauces and chutneys are also lavishly prepared in the kitchen and also part of the philosophy of our cooking. Both manage a team averaging 20 employees and still personally cook with them every day - for your all-round pampering culinary experience in the Hinterzarten restaurant "Adler Stuben".
